"Zentangle is a creative and newest way to meditate" , this is how I was introduced to this new form of art. For few months I used to just register it in my head by observing the drawing done by my friends. One day I really felt I should try it on my own and there started this Zentangle journey of mine.

This was my first drawing, It was mostly looking like mehandi design...very basic and easy. This also made me understand more about it. So I started reading more and trying to understand more of these patterns and how to do it. Personally I am very much enthusiastic and passionate about whatever I do. So instead of wasting(spending) time on reading and learning I thought of learn it by myself and make mistakes and learn more.So there is NO professional training for my drawings. But there are so many sites which offers step by step guide.

This is what I read about this art and liked it very much hence giving that information as it is:
Zentangle, derived from the Japanese word ‘Zen’ for meditation and English word ‘Tangle’, has a philosophical base. It has been known to improve self-esteem, creativity and to keep you calm and focused. This is because Zentangle "helps you to stay in the present." And this technique, akin to meditation, offers benefits proven by scientific research as well. When you meditate, your mind goes into an ‘alpha state’ and your brain is idle and calm. Zentangle has a very similar effect on the mind. For Zentangling you need only pen and paper and basic knowledge of geometry. With this you can start straightaway. Tangling is nothing but drawing geometric shapes repetitively in fixed manner. This repetition add beauty to drawing. Once you are through with basics you can draw some meaningful pictures.

After I started doing this I thought let me implement my knowledge on something than just drawing on paper. During same time I was also trying to reuse my old car tyres somewhere in house. This is what I came up with. I just spray painted tyres and cut the plywood into circles to fit in and some zentangling on top with permanent marker and my garden set was ready.

Even I am newcomer and amateur in this art form and trying and learning new things every day. I will keep updating my drawings here. I recommend it to everyone who wants to learn about concentration or mediation. Off course this is first baby step towards it, but everyone has to start it somewhere and sometime right ???
There are lot of sites on internet but few I am giving here
